Joseph James Curia

d. June 14, 2014

Joseph James Curia, 83, passed away Saturday evening, June 14, 2014. ""Papa Joe"" was a Diamondhead resident with his lovely bride of 62 years, Marijane Curia. Joe had a long and successful career, which included owning several businesses before retiring from a full time position in his early 70's. No matter what Joe was doing, meeting people and developing friendships and relationships was always what drove both his professional and personal successes.
Alongside Marijane, Joe is survived by 5 children, 3 daughter-in-laws, and 9 grandchildren. Particularly for those who knew him, Joe's world revolved around golf and his family-especially his grandchildren. They each held a special place in his heart, and as often as he could, Joe would spend quality time with each of them. Outside of his immediate family, Joe will also be remembered by his Diamondhead family, which includes numerous friends that were very special to him and Marijane over the years.
Please join us in celebrating Papa Joe's life at his funeral service to be held on Monday, June 23rd at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Diamondhead. The family will greet friends for a viewing at the church starting at 9:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service, which begins at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Biloxi National Cemetery
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made in Papa Joe's honor to St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
