Joseph "Joey" Corbin, 53, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away on April 25, 2024.
Joey’s journey began with his education at the Louisiana School for Math Science and the Arts, followed by his short time at LSU where he cultivated a lifelong love for learning and curiosity. As a dedicated veteran of the Army National Guard, Joey exemplified a commitment to service, a trait that he carried into his career with Homeland Security, where he further served his country as a federal agent.
Beyond his professional life, Joey was a man of many passions. An avid reader of fantasy novels, he found joy in the boundless realms of imagination. He cherished moments spent playing pool, cheering on his beloved LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints, and grilling out for his family and friends as often as possible. Above all else, however, his greatest source of happiness was found in his role as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Joey was preceded in death by his father, Harry Corbin, but his memory lives on through his loving wife of 31 years, Angel Corbin, whom he met 33 years ago in Monroe, Louisiana - an encounter that sparked a lifelong partnership built on limitless love and mutual respect. The bond they share only grew as time went on and continues to grow still, leaving a lasting impact on this world. He is also survived by his sons, Zachary and Matthew Corbin, with whom he passed on his gracious nature and fierce loyalty. Further survivors include his mother, Gloria Corbin, his siblings, Karen Richardson, Richie Corbin, and Stacy Corbin, his cherished grandchildren, Anderson, Jayna, and Eliza Corbin, as well as a host of nieces and nephew.
In honoring of Joey’s wishes, the family will hold a private service to celebrate his life at a later date.
