Jose Sanchez, Jr.

Jose Sanchez, Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, in St. Charles, Missouri, at the age of 90. Born on September 15, 1935, in Mercedes, Texas, Jose lived a full and vibrant life, marked by dedication to family, service, and community.

Having earned his bachelor's degree, Jose's career as a Tech Writer with McDonnell Douglas was a significant chapter of his life, showcasing his intelligence and commitment to his work. After retiring, he made his home in Mississippi, where he became an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Gulfport, Mississippi.

A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Jose exemplified the spirit of service throughout his life. His commitment to his country was mirrored in his personal interests and hobbies; he enjoyed fishing, traveling, and visiting with his family, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones.

He is survived by his daughter, Debra Kaul of Reno, Nevada, and his son, David Sanchez of Rolla, Missouri. Jose took great joy in being a grandfather to Jesse, Cory, Nick, and Anna, and in watching his family grow further with the addition of his great-grandchildren, Ofelia, Coraline, and Sydney. He also held a special place in his heart for his "adopted daughter," Anita Riebel, of O'Fallon, Missouri.

Jose was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Sanchez, whose memory continued to live on in the hearts of those who knew them both.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road in Biloxi, Mississippi, followed by a graveside service at Biloxi National Cemetery at 1:30 PM where military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Air Force.  He will be laid to rest next to his wife, Mary, who passed away in 2017. 

Memorial contributions may be made to a local food bank in his memory.
