Johnny Swiney, Sr., 76 and resident of Biloxi passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in Gulfport.
Mr. Swiney, a native of Virginia, served two years in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a Sgt. First Class from the U.S. Army after 22 years of military service. He later worked as an Electronics Specialist and retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding.
Mr. Swiney was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Rose Swiney; parents, Hobert and Mary Elizabeth Swiney; sisters, Cora Dickens, Shirley Cooper, and Betty Willis; and brothers, Jessie Swiney, Walter Swiney, Emerald Swiney, and Colonel Swiney
He is survived by his children, Johnny Swiney, Jr., Donna McKenzie and her husband Verlon, Debbie Lepre and her husband Kevin, and Darlene West and her husband Steve; ten grandchildren, Hoby, Jason, Cody, Jacob, Chad, Danielle, Faith, Aaron, Lauren, and Stephen; and seven great-grandchildren, Kaelyn, Garrett, Conner, Victoria Rose, Shelby, Jasmine, and Brayden.
The family would like to give a special thank you to his caregivers Anne and Beth at Seashore Highland and to Camellia Hospice.
The funeral service will be 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
