He is preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas Bennett, Sr. and Sarah Jane Bobinger Bennett.
He is survived by wife of 36 years, Elizabeth Saucier Bennett; 4 sons, Clifton Dixon, Johnny Bennett, Jr., Ralph Bennett, Robert Saucier; 4 daughters, Lois Ann Bennett, Emery Waltman, Valintine Bennett, Sarah Bennett; 5 brothers; 3 sisters; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; beloved dog, Lady Bug.
