John P. "Jack" Turan

John ""Jack"" P. Turan, Jr., age 87 and a resident of Gulfport, passed away on August 2, 2015, in Gulfport, into the waiting arms of his loving wife, Stella and his son, John.
Mr. Turan was a native and longtime resident of the MS Gulf Coast. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer, after 22 years of service. He then retired from Civil Service at the Biloxi VA as a dental technician, after 35 years of service. Mr. Turan was also a proud member of the National Rifle Association.
Mr. Turan was preceded in death by his parents, John P. Turan, Sr. and Virginia Richards Turan; his wife, Stella Turan and a son, John A. Turan.
He is survived by his children, David (Nancy) Turan of Woolmarket, Barbara Turan of Gulfport, Deborah (Basil) Munro of Pensacola, FL, Laura Lawson of Metter, GA, James (Jennifer) Turan of Saucier, and Mary (Greg) Dodd of Gulfport; his brother, Robert (Jane) Turan of Arkansas, nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Private services will be held.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, served the family.
