John Horton Toomey

Jack Toomey, age 86, passed away on April 19, 2015 in Biloxi, MS. He was born on September 25, 1928 and was a resident of Bay Saint Louis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Leona Toomey, and three brothers, Edward Toomey, Herbert Toomey, and Patrick Toomey.
He is survived by two children, Jack Toomey and EJ Toomey (Melinda Toomey), both of Waveland; four granddaughters, Kara Toomey of Vancleave, Tara Toomey Waits of Ocean Springs, Ashley Toomey Pullin of Bay Saint Louis, and Lauren Toomey of Waveland; and three great grandchildren, Saylor, Sawyer, and Macie.
He proudly served as a United States Marine in World War II and in the United States Army in the Korean War.
He was the owner/operator of Toomey Shell Service in Waveland for over 40 years. He was also a home builder for many years. He enjoyed working with his customers and clients and always aimed to provide the best of himself.
He was extremely proud of his granddaughters and their accomplishments as they matured into young ladies. He never hesitated to talk about them to anyone who had a few minutes to listen.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Niagara CLC of the Biloxi VA Hospice who showed kindness, compassion, and God's love through their care for him.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, from 10:00 AM until 11 AM at Saint Clare Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 in the church. Burial will be in Waveland Cemetery.
