John J. Scott, 85, of Baton Rouge, LA (formerly of Saucier) died Thursday, August 3, 2006 in Baton Rouge.
He was a native of Chack Bay, LA and was a long time resident of Saucier. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and worked in the construction business as a truck driver. He was a member of Serenity Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in White Sands, MS and he enjoyed working outdoors and building.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Scott; a grandchild, Nellie Arceneaux; a step-grandchild, Todd Crosby; parents, Paul and Sarah Tivit Scott; 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
Survivors include 5 children: Julius Scott, Covington, LA Bernadette Arceneaux, Bay St. Louis, Carolyn Lee, Hammond, LA, Diana Truel, Bay St. Louis, and Larry Scott, Baton Rouge, LA; 5 step-children: Cecil Crosby, Saucier, Richard Crosby, Gulfport, Earl Crosby, Saucier, Margie Luckado, LaCombe, LA, and Ronnie Crosby, Metairie, LA; 2 sisters: Theresa Liner and Lucresa Lirette, both of Theriot, LA; 19 grandchildren and 16 step-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 6, 2006 from 11:30 am until 2:30 pm at Gulf Coast Funeral Home, Three Rivers Rd. Chapel, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 2:30 pm in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in Coalville Cemetery.
