John Lindberg Ross, Sr., age 90 of Ocean Springs, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018.
Mr. Ross was born in Biloxi to Captain Amos and Sophie Duggan Ross. He graduated from Biloxi High School and went on to receive an Associate in Business from JCCC. He played Semi-Pro football for the Galloping Gales in Biloxi while working in the family business, Caption Amos & Yellow Cab. Mr. Ross is a former City of Biloxi Police Officer. Mr. Ross and his beloved wife, Roselyn, relocated with their children to Ocean Springs in 1959. He is retired from the BPM Club in Beaumont, TX.
Mr. Ross has been a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs since 1959. He was also a member of IBEW.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Elwood, Alice, Willis, Wildon, Evelyn, Ernest (Sonny) and George Ross; grandson, Kenneth D. Ross, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Roselyn Louise Barrilleaux Ross of Ocean Springs; his children, John Lindberg Ross, Jr. of Gautier, Kenneth D. Ross, Sr. (Angela Alston-Ross) of Ocean Springs; two grandchildren, Bryan C. Ross and Hope Alston-Ross; great grandchildren, Haley C. Ross, Myriah C. Ross, Breanna S. Ross, John C. Ross, Kenneth Austin Ross, and Maleah Elizabeth Ross; and one great-great grandson, Kenneth Cree Lane.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at St. John Episcopal Church, Ocean Springs, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior in the church's parish hall. Reception immediately following service in St. John's Parish Hall.
