Mr. Ralph Clarence Harold Marske, age 89 and a longtime resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, passed away at the Armed Forces Retirement Home on September 5, 2013 in Gulfport, MS. Mr. Marske was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Noble ""Rose"" Marske; his daughter Kary ""Baby"" Ellen Smyle; one granddaughter Stephanie Marske; and his parents John Rhineheart Marske and Irma Jeager Marske.
He is survived by brother Herold and wife Monica of Minnesota; four sons and one daughter, Gary Marske and wife Mildred of Texas, Kingsley Marske and wife Bitsy of Georgia, Larry Marske of Biloxi, Marsha Schmitt and husband Michael of Biloxi, and Van Marske of Biloxi; 24 grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Kelly Porterfield and husband Brad of Virginia, Ashley Cline of West Virginia, Kevin Kuder of Texas, Bill Kuder of Texas, Wendy Marske of North Carolina, Stacy Scott and husband Michael of South Carolina, Kyle Marske and wife Gwen of North Carolina, Sarah Marske of Georgia, Mark Marske and wife Megan of North Carolina, David Smyle and wife Tina of North Carolina, Donald Smyle and wife Jean of North Carolina, Jason Marske of Alabama, Christie Minor of Oklahoma, Erika Marske of Tennessee, Joshua Marske of Tennessee, Heather Dau and husband Kurt of Mississippi, TienTse Reisch and husband Jeff of Mississippi, Michael Schmitt IV of Texas, Alicia Niolet and husband Robert of Mississippi, Joshua Schmitt and wife Barbara of Mississippi, Curtis Schmitt of Mississippi, Jeremiah Marske of North Carolina, Kaleb Marske and wife Renata of North Carolina and Van-Leigh Marske of Mississippi; and many great-grandchildren.
Memorial services with full military honors will be held at the Committal Shelter in Biloxi VA National Cemetery on Tuesday, September 10th 2013, at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow. Please do not send flowers as the cemetery allows only 1, which the family is providing.
