John "Harry" Ladner, Sr., a beloved member of the Delisle community and dedicated family man, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in Gulfport, Mississippi, at the age of 79. Born on August 13, 1945, Harry was a long-time resident of Delisle, where he cherished the time spent with his family and friends.
After graduating from Pass Christian High School in 1963, Harry pursued a successful career, retiring after 28 years from Teledyne Irby Steel. Throughout his life, Harry was known for his generous spirit and strong work ethic, exemplifying the values of commitment and diligence. He was also a proud member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where he found solace and fellowship within the community.
Harry's passion for life extended beyond his career; he was an avid fisherman and hunter, enjoying the great outdoors whenever possible. In his earlier years, he loved to play golf, often spending weekends on the course with friends. His zest for life was matched only by his devotion to his family. Harry had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, relishing every moment spent with them.
Harry is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris D. Ladner; his three children, Darlene DeRocha (Daniel), Angela Necaise (Darrell), and John "Harry" Ladner, Jr. (Melissa); his eleven grandchildren, Kris (Brooke), Jessica (Darius), Tiffany (Jason), Stephen (Lacey), Drake, Anthony (Pam), Bridget (Malcolm), Cade (Jeanna), Kyle (Caley), Ethan (Bailey), and DeAnn; his fifteen great-grandchildren, Palmer, Christian, Haysten, Aubree, Jillian, Jackson, Jenson, Stephen "Tony," Madison, Taylor, Kaitlyn, Ethan, Jace, Branton, and Brielle; and his two great-great-grandchildren, Lillian and Tatum. He is also remembered by numerous loving family members and friends who will carry his memory forward.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Agnel and Virgie Ladner; his brother, Norford "Butch" Ladner; and his sisters, Gloria Harshbarger, Pat Farragut, Elaine Pavolini, and Barbara Ladner. His legacy of love and memories will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:45 PM at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road, Pass Christian, MS. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 3:00 PM, with interment at New Delisle Cemetery to follow Mass.
