John L. Harden, age 71 of Long Beach, passed away April 8, 2018, in Gulfport.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John L. Harden, Sr. and Ceolia Deas; his brother, Billy Ellis Deas; and his step-father, Ellis Deas.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Harden; his children, Christina Harden Ladner and Sean Harden, both of Long Beach; his siblings, Connie Deas Mathes, Brenda Deas Dixon, and Tony Deas, all of Mobile, AL; his grandchildren, Olivia Grace Ladner and Rhett McKenlee Harden; and his beloved dog, Bella.
John was a graduate of Murphy High School, Mobile, AL. He was an Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He worked for National Food Stores for 20 years and retired as a manager. He also worked more than 30 years in the auto industry and was currently employed with Allen Toyota.
John was a past member of the Southern Star Lodge of Long Beach and was a devoted fan of Alabama football. He was of the Baptist faith. His grandchildren were the joys of his life.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. A private graveside service, with military honors will be held at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to the Humane Society of South MS.
