John A Goul

John A. Goul, of Gulfport, MS, passed away on March 12, 2023, at the age of 75 years, surrounded by his loved ones.

John was born in Muncie, Indiana; graduated from Kaiserslautern American High School in Germany; and attended Mississippi State University. He served his country in the United States Air Force. John was an avid hockey fan, enjoyed watching the MS Sea Wolves, playing adult hockey and teaching hockey to children. When he was not playing with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, you could easily find him in the woods hunting or playing one of his musical instruments or listening to Blue Grass music.

John was preceded in death by his father Robert F. Goul and mother Marcella D. Goul. 

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Betty S. Goul; his brothers, Michael (Deborah) Goul of Pensacola, FL and Dan (Jolinda) Goul of Westminister, CO; and his sister, Kay (Thomas) Sones of Diamondhead; his children, Brian (Debbie) Goul of Louisville, KY, Supannee "Min" Najera (Heriberto) of Bradenton, FL, Allen (Jaimie) Goul of Portage, IN, Lynn Spears of Pace, FL; and stepchildren, Rodney (Kwan) Cuevas of Thailand, Marcy (David) Paul of Goldsboro, NC, Angela (Jay) Pal of Seattle, WA, and Randy (Karri) Cuevas of Wiggins; 15 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

His family would like to thank the Biloxi VA Hospital Oncology and ICU physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses and staff for all their kindness and care. We appreciate all the many prayers, love and support from family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS. Services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in John’s honor to the American Cancer Society.
