John Conner Francis, age 77 of Long Beach, passed away on December 2, 2023, at Biloxi, MS.
John's early education began at Rockport High School where he graduated in 1964. He then pursued a military career by enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1965, demonstrating his patriotic spirit and commitment to serving his country.
After completing his service in the military, John embraced various occupations throughout his life. He worked as a postal carrier in Florida and sold lobsters in Mississippi. It was during this time that he earned the nickname "Lobster John," a testament to his passion for his work and the impact he made on those around him.
Beyond his professional endeavors, John had an unwavering love for sports. He enjoyed watching all kinds of sports and could often be found cheering on his favorite teams.
One of John's proudest accomplishments was serving as Post Commander of American Legion Post 98 in Rockport, Massachusetts. Through this role, he displayed leadership skills and fostered a sense of camaraderie among fellow veterans. His dedication to honoring their service was admirable and deeply appreciated by all.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Langrud Francis; his children, Stacey (John), Kristen (Christopher), Darren, James (Tanya), Danielle (Michael), Brenda (Leonardo), and Bridgette (Erick); his sister, Judith Harris; 18 grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
