John Joseph Favaloro, Jr.

John Joseph Favaloro, Jr., age 38 of New Orleans, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Favaloro, Sr.; his maternal grandmother, Dianne Kennedy and his paternal grandparents, AJ and Mary Favaloro.

John is survived by his loving mother, Tracy (Jeff) Garth; his grandfather, Jerry Kennedy. Sr.; his step siblings, Jeannie Wheeler and Bowen (Allison) Garth; his niece and nephew, Kairi and Matthew; his aunts, Tammy (Scott) Lick and Rhonda Douglas; his uncle, Jerry Kennedy, Jr., and numerous cousins.

Born in Bay St. Louis, John was raised in Southern Hancock County, where he spent most of his younger life. He worked several jobs throughout Hancock County before beginning his career in machinery in New Orleans with Chisesi Brothers Meat Packing Company. He later joined Leidenheimer Baking Company and, most recently, worked at Paul Piazza & Sons Seafood. It was during his time at Piazza’s that he met the love of his life, Norma Alvarado.

John had a natural talent for understanding how things worked and was passionate about machinery. Throughout his career, he specialized in repairing and maintaining equipment, working with programmable logic controllers and both the electronic and mechanical components of machinery. He was the kind of person who could look at something broken and figure out how to make it work again.

His talents extended well beyond his work. John loved skateboarding and working on cars. He taught himself how to rebuild an engine and had an incredible ability to repair just about anything on a vehicle. If something was broken, John was usually determined to find a way to fix it.

John was also an avid disc golf player and turned his passion for the sport into a business, owning Poboy Discs and selling custom discs. He enjoyed spending time outdoors playing disc golf, as well as shooting and practicing at the range.

John was deeply loved by his family, friends, and all who knew him. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved him.

Private graveside service will be held at Waveland Cemetery. Celebration of John's life will be announced at a later date.
