John Calhoun Edwards

John Calhoun ""J.C./Phantom 309"" Edwards, Jr., 79, passed away August 25, 2015 in Gulfport. He was a truck driver for over 50 years. He worked for W.C. Fore Trucking after which he operated his own trucking business J&E Reefer Service Inc. John was also a member of the Coast Cruiser's in Gulfport and he was a friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his parents; John Calhoun Edwards, Sr. and Lois Bozeman Edwards; baby daughter, Sissy; son, Thomas Ray Edwards.
He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth Wharton Edwards of Gulfport; 3 sons, John C. Edwards, III of Gulfport, Richard E. Edwards (Sharon) of Gulfport and Martin V. Edwards of Gulfport; sister, Ellen Kendrick (Ray) of Ocala, FL; in-laws, Debbie McFall (James), Robert Aultman (Aileen), Joseph Aultman (Marie), Robert Martin (Joan) and Jimmy Ledford (Carol); 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; many friends; a special thanks to Saad's Home Health and his nurse Sarah for their support and care during his sickness.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. A visitation will be held Friday, August 28, 2015 at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM. A burial will follow the service at Floral Hills Cemetery in Gulfport.
