John Drew Carpenter

John Drew Carpenter, of Buras Louisiana, passed away at the age of 67 in Biloxi on August 13, 2016.
Beloved father of Jennifer Carpenter LeBlanc (David), John Paul Carpenter, and Kevin Carpenter, grandfather of Zachary, Brady, Payton, David Jr., and Brooke, and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Glen Drew Carpenter. He is survived by his mother, Betty Lou Ragas Carpenter and his six brothers and sisters, Susan Stratton (Hal), Patti Carpenter, Michael Carpenter (Wanda), Jessica Jukes (Harry), Timothy Carpenter (Nancy), and William Carpenter (Lori), and many nieces and nephews.
He worked in the oil industry as a production supervisor and consultant for over 30 years. He had a passion for music and was an accomplished guitarist, bassist, singer, and songwriter. He also enjoyed golf, but never had enough time to become a pro. He was an avid reader and would read encyclopedias when nothing else was available.
We will never forget his unique sense of humor and his unconditional love for his children, friend, and family.
