John Joseph "Joey" Caranna

John Joseph ""Joey"" Caranna, II, age 69, of Gulfport, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2016 in Gulfport.
John was born September 2, 1946, in Gulfport, the eldest son of John Joseph Caranna and Mary Alice Amber Caranna.
He attended Gulfport public schools and graduated from Gulfport High School in 1964. He attended Perkinston Jr. College, currently Gulf Coast Community College.
After graduation, John served in the U.S. Army Reserve. His career spanned various sales positions in retail and music. The majority of his career was spent as a salesman for St. Louis Music Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Caranna Brown and husband Rhett of Olympia, Washington; son, Domonic Caranna, and wife Stephanie of Slidell; former wife, Carolyn Kowalski Caranna of Pass Christian; grandsons, Cooper Brown and Leo Caranna; stepmother, Patricia Reid Caranna of Biloxi; brothers, James Philip Caranna and wife Liz of Gulfport; and Dennis Michael Caranna and wife Jane of Brandon; sister, Cynthia Caranna Mason and husband Tom of Biloxi.; and beloved pet, Redd.
The family requests memorials be made to the Humane Society of South Mississippi, 2615 25th Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39501; or the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507.
