John Brower, Jr., 65, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026, in Gulfport, Mississippi. He was born on June 14, 1961, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to John Brower and Linda Lasley Brower.

A proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran, John later retired after a dedicated career with the TSA. Outside of work, he knew exactly how to enjoy his time. He was an avid viewer of Jeopardy! and Fox News, with a healthy rotation of NCIS, golf, and poker to keep him well-rounded. John loved a good run at the casino, always followed by a great meal. To his family’s amusement, whoever buys his house will reap the rewards of his good fortune.

John is survived by his two daughters, Tajia McGilberry (Shaun) of Wake Village, Texas, and Leigh Brower of Texarkana, Arkansas; his sisters, Cindy Carter (Darrel) of Nunnelly, Tennessee, and Wendy Brower (Ray Feagins) of Dallas, Texas; his granddaughters, A.J. McGilberry, Rose McGilberry, and Kharmen McChristian; his grandsons, John Little and Marquez Neal; his best friend, Frankie Jane Miller and friend, Janet Matlachowski; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Teresa Hetrick and Paula Brower; and his brother, Jack Brower.

A graveside service will be held at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, where his ashes will be interred near his sister, Teresa.
