John Dale Blades, 75, left this earth on Thursday, November 16, 2017.
Mr. Blades was a former resident of Johnston City, Illinois and has been a resident of the Coast since 1999, living first in Biloxi, then Wiggins. Mr. Blades retired in 1999 as a Supervisor from the Maytag Corp. He was a fantastic baker and gardener, and loved his grandbabies dearly. Mr. and Mrs. Blades were big travelers and traveled extensively in the lower 48.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Kerley and his father, George Blades. He leaves behind the love of his life for 35 years, Connie C. Blades; his children, Jim (Gayla) Mitchell of Zeigler, IL, Stacey (Tom) Biggs of Royalton, IL and Kent (Debbie) Mitchell of West Frankfort, IL; his grandchildren, Andrew (Lacy) Mitchell of Zeigler, Steve (Katie) Borta of Sesser, IL, David (Jessica) Borta of West Frankfort, Tyler Mitchell of Zeigler, Shelbi Borta (fiancé' Hudson Vantrease) of Chicago, IL, Cole Levanti of West Frankfort and Chelsea Vaughn of Benton, IL; his great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Charley, John Ryan, Landry and Brogan; and his brothers-in-law, Steve (Stormie) Collins and Richard Collins, both of Johnston City, IL.
Private services will be held at a later date.
