John Joseph Bernich, age 73, of Saucier, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017 in Jackson, MS.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John O. Bernich and Yvonne Bernich; his son, Shawn Bernich; his granddaughter, Abigail Christian Carbo; and his brother, Steven Bernich.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Connie S. Bernich; his step-children, Lavinia Harris, Terry Alexis, Jr., and Truman Alexis; his children, Tonya Bernich Carbo and Milissa Bernich; his grandchildren, Ethan Picone, Hailey Picone, Jaden Harris, Draeton Alexis, Terry Rodrigue, Taylor Rodrigue, Brandon Rodrigue, Whitney Carbo Thomassie (Kirt), Macie Carbo and Madison Carbo; his great-grandchild: Christian Thomassie; his siblings, Kenneth Bernich (Carol), James Bernich (Sandra) and Patricia Bernich Macenko; and many nieces and nephews.
John was born in New Orleans, LA and he enjoyed his career immensely as a Deputy Sheriff at Jefferson Parrish Sherriff's Dept., where he retired after 18 years. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean War. John was of the Catholic faith.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017, from 6:00 P.M. until 11:00 P.M., at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS. The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 11:00 A.M.in the funeral home chapel and a graveside service will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
