Joann G. Edwards

Joann G. Edwards, age 81, passed away peacefully in Gulfport, MS on June 16, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Edwards; her sister, Pauline ""Polly"" Garrison Kirkland; and her parents, Martha Tilkey Garrison and R. L. ""Banty"" Garrison, Sr.
Joann was survived by her children, Jan Edwards McHatton of Plano, TX, Wm. Dennis Edwards and his wife Teresa Kranz Edwards of Bedford, TX; her siblings, R.L. ""Buddy"" Garrison, Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Delmar, MD, and Rosemary ""Peachie"" Marrero of Willimsburg, VA; her grandchildren, Spencer John McHatton, Julia Elizabeth McHatton, Cameron Harris McHatton, Sarah Jessica Edwards, and Trent Aaron Trennepohl; her great grandchild, Dominic Scott Lloyd Trennepohl; numerous nieces and one nephew; and many dear friends.
She retired from Gulf National Bank after many years of service and then became a school teacher at East Ward Elementary School, Gulfport. Joann was a member of Burton Memorial United Methodist Church, and then later First United Methodist Church, Gulfport where at one time she directed the ""Sassy Seniors"" and was involved in many church activities.
She was a wonderful Wife, Mother and Nana, and dearly loved her family and friends whom she celebrated her life with every day. She will be greatly missed.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport with a visitation for family and friends from 1:00 PM until the service. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport.
