Joan "Joanie" Carolyn Grant Wright, age 78, and a resident of Pass Christian, MS, passed away on November 8, 2017.
She was born on January 29, 1939 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to John Truett Grant and Frieda Grant.
She is preceded in death by her parents; step-son, Tracy D. Wright; and her brother-in-law, Gene Kimball.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 33 years, George L. Wright of Pass Christian; sister, Nancy Kimball; five children, Carrie Howe, William Grant, Tammy Bumpus, Mark Schiel, Sheila Wright-Walter; nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Susie, Truett, Josh, Christopher, Jacob, Luke, Tyler, and Alex; and seven, great-grandchildren, Miles, Sophia, Lillianna, Serenity, Trinity, Iris, and Ruby.
Joanie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and Christian. She worked as an accountant and was treasurer of the Timber Ridge Women's Club in Pass Christian. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and scrabble.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 1 PM at Bible Fellowship Church, 7030 Menge Ave. Pass Christian, MS. A reception will follow at the church's fellowship hall. A private interment will be held at a later date. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach served the family.
Joanie touched many lives and anyone who met her knew how loving and caring she was. She was loved by all and she will be missed very much!
