Joan Rachel Anderson Blackwell, 72, passed away on May 14, 2026, at her home in Gulfport. Joanie was a graduate of Gulfport High School and Jeff Davis Junior College.

Joanie is survived by her husband of 39 years, Michael Blackwell; a nephew, Roger L. Brock; grandsons, Aaron Strickland, Daniel Laird, Mark Laird; and several cousins. 

She is preceded in death by her parent, Walter and Elois Anderson; sister, Sandy Haley; daughter, Christina Hallenbeck; and in-laws, Doris and Norris Blackwell.

There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Evergreen Cemetery In Gulfport, MS, starting at 10:00 AM.
