Joan Muriel Lang

Joan Muriel Lang, age 87, of Gulfport, passed away on August 26, 2013 in Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Florence Leary; her husband, Lewis T. Lang; and her brother in law, Henry Diener.
She is survived by two sons, Lewis T. Lang, Jr and his wife Suzanne of Gulfport and Barry T. Lang and his wife Elaine of Houston, TX; one daughter, Kimberly Lang Scarborough of Gulfport; one sister, Doreen Diener; three grandsons, Robert Scarborough, Dennis Lang, and Blake L. Lang; two nieces, Paulette Mayeux and Jackie Higdon and one nephew, Jay Sims, all of Baton Rouge, LA; and numerous great nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Born in Salford, England, she resided in Gulfport for many years. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, Gulfport where she served as a choir member, was a soloist for many weddings, a Sunday School teacher, and a member of the United Methodist Women and Grace Notes. She was a member of the Pink Ladies Memorial Hospital Auxiliary where she volunteered in the gift shop. She was an active member of the PTA in the Gulfport School system in the 1960's and participated in plays with the Gulfport Little Theater.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport with a visitation for family and friends from 10:00 AM until the service. Entombment will follow at Southern Memorial Park, Biloxi.
