Jimmy Louis Simmons passed away on 6/20/2026, in Ocean Springs, Mississippi at the age of 91 years old.

He is preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline (Guerbet) Simmons; parents, Christopher Columbus Simmons and Emma Lucinda (Hopkins) Simmons; brothers Christopher Columbus Simmons III and Bobby Simmons Sr; and sisters Vivian (Simmons) Burton and Christine (Simmons) Koch.

Jimmy is survived his children, Brigitte Simmons Cherubini, of Gautier, MS., Pandora Patricia Lynne Simmons, of Houston, TX., and Jimmy Wayne Simmons and his spouse Rebecca Warth Simmons of Ocean Springs, MS; grandchildren, Claire Odum, Houston, TX; Jack Odum, Houston, TX; step-grandchildren Amelia Anderson, and Martin Anderson, both of Ocean Springs, MS; and Richard Odum, son--in-law, Houston, TX. Close family friends Cindy Vaughn, Jonathan Russell, Joshua Russell and Eva Russell, all of Vancleave, MS.

Jimmy Louis Simmons passed away leaving behind a loving family and countless cherished memories. Jimmy spent his early years in Arkansas where his father was a cotton farmer, before embarking on a distinguished 20-year career in the United States Air Force, where he retired as a Master Sergeant.

As an electronics and computer technician, Jimmy served with dedication across the United States and international postings. It was during his time in France with the Air Force where he met the love of his life, Jacqueline. They married in Soissons, France, and their first daughter was born at a hospital in Bitburg, Germany, followed by another daughter and then a son in the United States.

Jimmy's military service also took him to Saudi Arabia, where he combined his technical expertise with his passion for music as a guitarist in a band known as the Country Kings. After retiring from the Air Force, he continued to serve as a Civil Service Master Instructor at Keesler, AFB teaching Global Command & Control with the 3410th TTG, and finally Ground Radio Maintenance with the 338th TTG. He remained in that position until his second retirement.

Outside of work, Jimmy was an avid reader, astronomy enthusiast, and musician who maintained his guitar-playing skills throughout his life. He found deep joy in sharing his interests with his children, regularly taking them to science museums, planetariums, and libraries when they were young. Many fond evenings were spent in the backyard, using his telescope to explore the stars and moon together. He was also into computers, and was an active Amateur Radio Operator with the call sign N5MSJ and enjoyed building and repairing radio equipment. He loved collecting and building clocks.

Jimmy will be remembered as a devoted father who showed his love through his actions and genuine care for his family. His steady, peaceful presence and unwavering acceptance of life's journey made him a stabilizing force for all who knew him.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, located at 13872 Lemoyne Blvd., in West Jackson County, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service is held.
