Jimmy Mixon

Jim Mixon, Sr., age 67, of Gulfport, passed away on January 14, 2013.
Mr. Mixon was born in New Orleans, LA and was a resident of Gulfport. He enjoyed ""tinkering"" in his shed and dancing to the music from his juke box. He served in the Navy for 6 years and worked in the numerous shipyards including many years at Halter Marine in Pascagoula, MS.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Mixon, his parents, Ernie H. Mixon and Mabel S. Mixon, a daughter, Lisa Marie Baptiste, a step-son, Jimmy Breland, and 2 sisters, Ernestine Oxner and Dorothy Wells.
Survivors include a son, Jimmy Mixon, Jr. and his wife, Michelle, a daughter, Alice Schonewitz and her husband, Jeff, a sister, Lillie Mancuso and her husband, Charles), a brother, Charles E. Mixon, his beloved dog ""Chi Chi"", numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his co-workers at VT Halter Marine in Moss Point.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport.
