Jewel Q. (Shamlin) Wingo

Jewel Q. (Shamlin) Wingo, age 97, of Gulfport, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her husband Perry Wingo, her father, Grover Shamlin; her mother, Mindie (Stacy) Shamlin; a son, Micheal P. Wingo; three sisters and one brother.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Wingo) Addison (Jimmy); her grandchildren: Jordan Addison (Stephanie), Taylor Mitchell (Adam), Austin Wingo (Meagan) and Courtney Clark (Jon Micheal); her great grandchildren: William Mitchell, Penelope Mitchell, Linnea Addison, Perry Addison, Wade Wingo, Olivia Wingo, Wheeler Clark, Sam Clark, Haddon Clark, and John Robert Clark and other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Wingo is a native of Marietta, MS and a longtime resident of Gulfport. She was a homemaker, wife and mother. She was a member of Bayou View Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank the staff at Greenbriar Nursing Center and Kare in Home (Vital Care) for their loving and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, the family would like any donations to go the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.

Mrs. Wingo will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
