Jewel Elaine Brewer Odom

Jewel Elaine Brewer Odom born January 22, 1946, departed this world on March 22, 2026 in Poplarville. “Elaine” as everyone knew her had a nurturing touch when it came to her yard. Her passion for her flower garden reflected in the colorful array throughout her yard. She spent many joyful hours tending to her flowers and keeping her yard immaculate.

Elaine had a deep love for the Smoky Mountains, visiting every chance she could, always taking in the beautiful scenery the mountains had to offer. In her leisure time you could find her watching “old westerns”, especially “Gun Smoke”, or sitting in her rocking chairs on her front porch admiring her flowers, and enjoying her dog “Little Bit” and her cats.

Elaine was known for her strong spirit and loved her family. She was a caregiver and true pillar of her family who gave all she had, leaving a legacy behind of many memories for her children, grandchildren, her great grandchildren to cherish.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary L. Odom; her parents, Ernest and Eunice Brewer; her brothers, Earl, Jessie, Julius, Clyde and Oscar Brewer; her sisters, Margaret Tate Davis, Linda Gail Austin, Betty Lou Williams, Aline Smith, and Bonnie Thompson.

Left to cherish her memories are a very special niece, Gwen Tate; and her children, Wayne (Dawn) Odom, Patricia (Jeremy) Saucier, and Clint (Regina) Odom. She also leaves a legacy of seven grandchildren, Coty (Rachel) Odom, Kristen Stewart, Shyann (Aaron) Spillman, Canton Odom, Saylor Odom, Blake (Christy) Saucier and Paige (Jared) Mooney.  She was blessed with 5 great-grandchildren, Kasyn Matthews, Lainey Stewart, Jaxton Stewart, AJ Odom, Ellie Spillman, and Anna Lynn Hardy; and numerous extended family members, friends and neighbors.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
