Jessie Joseph Lizana, a native of Gulfport, Mississippi, was born on November 27, 1937, and passed away in Gulfport on September 14, 2026, at the age of 88.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janice Lizana, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Victor Lizana and Lillie Saucier Lizana; his brother, Raymond Lizana; his daughter, Faye Elizabeth Lizana; and his son, Troy Adam Meacham.

Jessie’s memory will be cherished by his family. He is survived by his sons, Victor Joseph Lizana and his wife, Amy, and Daniel Paul Lizana; by his daughter, Tara Lynn Lizana Lambert and her husband, Jeremy Lakin Lambert; and by his daughter-in-law, Beverly Meacham. He also leaves behind a treasured circle of grandchildren: Davis Lizana, Nicholas Lizana, Garon Lizana, Justice Hunter Lizana, Logan Ray Henderson, Lexie Janae Henderson, Paizlee Fayth Lambert, Collin Lakin Lambert, Jessi Lizana-Pinkal, and Oliver Adam Meacham; and great-granddaughter, Aubree Faye Pinkal; great-grandson, Hunter Loil Lizana. Their lives stand as part of the lasting legacy he leaves to those who knew and loved him.

Buddy, the man, the myth, the legend was a true man's man. He made an impact on the lives of others as a brother, a father, a husband, and a loyal friend. He was an outstanding provider, protector, and mentor to his family. Buddy was dearly beloved by all who became his friend. He was also the best neighbor alive. Buddy was a man of his word and was there for those in their time of need. There was not a piece of machinery that Buddy could not run, operate and maintain. Every crop he planted grew in abundance. All of his cattle were the envy of fellow farmers.

Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Jessie during visitation on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home - Pass Christian, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road, Pass Christian, Mississippi. A second visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 9062 Kiln Delisle Road, Pass Christian, Mississippi, followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home - Pass Christian. Interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Allen Cemetery, 20240 28th Street, Long Beach, Mississippi.

Jessie Joseph Lizana will be remembered with love by his family and with respect by all who share in his memory.
