Obituary

Jerry Wayne Leake passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was born on November 8, 1940, in Oak Grove, Louisiana, but spent the last 50 years of his life as a resident of Hancock County in Mississippi.

Jerry proudly served the United States Navy for nine years, demonstrating commitment and honor in his role. As a skilled Radio Man, he expertly operated radio equipment during his service and continued this passion throughout his life. He loved being on his amateur ham radio, call sign K5DMC, connecting with individuals around the world. He cherished moments with his family, played guitar with friends, and enjoyed spending peaceful days on the water in his sailboat.

Jerry is survived by his children, Charles Leake and his wife Molly, Tina Lewis and her husband Steve, and Bryan Leake and his wife Julie. He also leaves behind his sister Pauline Richards. Known as "Pawpaw", he was very proud of his grandchildren, Brandi Triplett (Lance), Colin Leake (Peyton), Bradley Lewis (Jordan), Kendall Leake, Trent Lewis, Dylan Prince (Chantel), Dustin Prince, and Darren Prince (Mallory). Great-grandchildren include Linkin, Jaxin, Maverick, Riley Claire, Piper Jo, Ainsley, Camron, Hadley, and Wesley. Additionally, Jerry's nieces and nephews, Deborah, Kay (Chuck), David, and Bruce (Sandra) remember him fondly.

Jerry was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Janice F. Leake, their son James E. Leake, his parents, J. Forrest and Beatrice Carter Leake, and his brother F. Wallace Leake.

The family would like to thank everyone for their many heartfelt condolences and prayers on their behalf.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 11:00 AM TO 12:30 PM at Riemann Family Funeral Home in Pass Christian, Mississippi, located at 9113 Kiln Delisle Road. The funeral service will follow from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. Burial will take place at Alphonse Malley Cemetery on Firetower Road, beginning at 1:15 PM.
