Jerry Sue "Moma Sue" Hargrove, 81, of Gulfport, MS went home to be with her Lord on March 9, 2018. She was born on May 15, 1936 in Gulfport, MS.
I was given this beautiful gift of life. I lived my life to the utmost. I enjoyed it, I loved it, and now the time has come for me to say goodbye. Please don't shed tears for me, for I was lucky to be surrounded by family and friends, I am forever grateful to have completed my journey of life and now heaven awaits. I love my Lord and my faith is strong'.
Jerry Sue was preceded in death by her husband Hayward Hargrove; and her parents, Augustus and Maybel Woodcock, and Van Ladnier.
Jerry Sue is survived by her two sons, Gary T. Hargrove and his wife Susan, and his children, Danielle and Nick, and Samantha and Clay; and Tim Hargrove and his wife Karen, and their children, Robert and Rachel; her sisters, Mrs. Shirley McConnell and Ms. Doris Ann Carleton; numerous great grandchildren; and two very special family friends, Michael and Paula Ehrnfeldt.
Jerry Sue was a graduate of Gulfport High School, Phillips Junior College, and William Carey College with a Masters of Education Degree with a minor in Psychology Degree. As an educator she touched and changed many lives as a teacher and administrator. Her greatest achievements were Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award, Who's Who among American Women, National Deans List, and was elected into Phi Delta Kappa.
A special thanks to Dr. Richard Tilley, Dr. Boles, and St. Joseph Hospice. Our greatest thanks to her hospice nurses, Mary Dennison and Rhonda Smith and her nurse's aide, Meredith Jones.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018, at 12:00pm at Grace Memorial Baptist Church, 2301 23rd Ave., Gulfport, MS, with a visitation for family and friends from 10:30am until the service. Burial will follow at Evergreen Gardens.
