Jerry Maxwell Freeman, age 71, of Kiln, passed away on June 2, 2014 in Gulfport, MS.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Beverly ""Shari"" Freeman; his mother, Maxine Freeman; his father, Exell Freeman; and a daughter, Joyell Freeman.
Jerry is survived by his children, Mike (Marcia) Freeman, Missy (Mark) Bolton, and Tony (Missy) Freeman; grandchildren, Jacob (Ashley), Molly (Stephen), Michael (Santana), Wayne (Amber), Ashley (Josh), Adam, Heidi, Tara, Toni, J.D., Savannah, and Dusty; great grandchildren, Blake, Blaine, Blaide, Bre, Barrett, Matthew, Lilly, Kayelyn, and River; two sisters, Reba (David) Holifield and Kathy Reynolds; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The Lord called him home and he went peacefully, in this we are comforted.
Jerry shared 50 years of marriage with his wife, Shari. Over the years he worked as a truck driver, oilfield worker, and minister and loved being around people, engaging them in conversation; some of them he led to Christ - jewels in his crown.
Jerry loved spending time with family and friends. Many hours were filled sitting out by the fire, swinging and playing with the little ones who stopped by, showing them his ""petting zoo"". Almost everyone called him ""pawpaw"" because he made them feel so special.
He loved gardening and feeding his rabbits, goats and chickens. He took special pride in his horse, Phoenix and his little Izzy, who was a comfort and companion.
Special thanks to Deaconess Hospice, especially Debra Thomas, Curtis Davis, Nekida, Anetra, and Ms. Carmichael - you were all such a blessing to our family. Thank you for your loving care.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln-Delisle Rd., Pass Christain, MS from 12:00-2:00 pm, where a service will be held at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Rotten Bayou Cemetery.
