Jeffrie "Dee" White Rainey, age 74 of Gulfport, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017.
Dee is a native of Meridian, but has resided in Gulfport for over 50 years. She received her Masters degree in Psychology and a specialty degree in Psychometry with an emphasis on Psychology in the schools. Dee taught gifted and special education students and was a Psychometrist for the State of MS and Long Beach Schools. She loved to read and loved animals, especially taking care of her cats at home. She was a member of the National Wildlife Federation and supported the Humane Society of South MS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Rainey; her mother, Edwina Blackburn; and her father, Leo "Dee" White.
She is survived by her children, Chris (Paula) Rainey of Saucier, David (Diane) Rainey of Long Beach and Janet (Billy) Irwin of Gulfport; her brother, Mike (Marcie) White of Starkville, MS; eight grandchildren, Bailey, Cami, Reagan, Ryan, Aaron, Nicolas, Olivia and Zach; and two great grandchildren, Rory and William.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm on Monday, November 13, 2017, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport.
Memorial contributions may be made to any humane society.
