In Loving Memory of

Jeareld Dean Farley

September 22, 1939 – March 3, 2026

Jeareld Dean Farley—our “Dean”—was born on September 22, 1939, in Pass Christian to Charles and Alice Cox. From the very beginning, her life carried a quiet strength that would define her and bless everyone around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved siblings, Dorothy Lopez, Charles Cox, and Nancy Crawford. She is survived by her brother, Patrick Cox. What a reunion it must have been.

Dean was a devoted wife to her beloved Alton for 67 faithful years. Their marriage was steady, loyal, and rooted in covenant love. She stood by him through every season with unwavering commitment. If she loved you, she was for you—completely. She would defend you fiercely, even if you were wrong, because her loyalty ran that deep.

She was the proud and loving mother of Karen Lowery and David Ray Farley. Her grandchildren—David Michael Farley, Hannah Farley, Ashley Cole, and Trevor Lowery—were her absolute delight, along with her great-grandchildren. When they walked into the room, her whole face would light up. Nothing brought her more joy.

Dean loved the beauty of God’s creation. She found peace in bird watching and in the quiet wonder of the natural world. She adored Winnie-the-Pooh and his gentle wisdom. She loved Christmas shopping for ornaments, treasured simple lunches at Olive Garden, and created warmth everywhere she went.

She was incredibly talented—an exceptional seamstress and painter—though she would never admit it. Her roast and gravy were unmatched, and her German chocolate cake was a favorite at SonLife. And then there were her back rubs and head scratches—the best you could ever receive. We genuinely fought over them. When she held your hand, peace settled in. There was something sacred about her touch.

Dean loved Jesus with her whole heart. She once said she had never been angry with Him, even when life was hard or didn’t make sense. That kind of trust shaped everything about her. When she had an issue with someone, she would often say the Lord told her, “Just love them.” It wasn’t always easy counsel—but it was always right. She lived it.

She kept a prayer book, and if she ever prayed for you, she never stopped. Many people have no idea how faithfully she carried their names before the Lord. Her prayers covered generations.

She embodied both Mary and Martha from Scripture—choosing to sit at Jesus’ feet above all else, yet joyfully cooking, cleaning, and doing whatever it took behind the scenes to pave the way for the Holy Spirit to move.

She also carried a quiet spark of adventure. As a child she loved roller skating and always said she wished she’d kept it up. And tucked away in her heart was a secret dream of being a race car driver. Even in her gentleness, there was bravery.

Dean leaves behind a legacy of faithful prayer, steadfast love, quiet strength, and an unshakable devotion to Jesus. Her hands are at rest now, but the peace they carried, the prayers they whispered, and the love they gave will remain with us always.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd., Biloxi, MS, with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be held at 9:00 am on Friday, March 9, 2026, at Biloxi National Cemetery.
