Jeanette Strickland Harrison, age 79, of Gulfport, formerly of Wiggins, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014.
Mrs. Harrison was born in Wiggins, MS, to Amos and Effie Sellers Strickland. She was a 1953 graduate of Gulfport High School and was a retired librarian from the Stone County Library System.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jessie H. Harrison; her children, Rhett Harrison of Crystal River, FL, Scott Harrison (Dora) of Gulfport, Tambrey Scruggs (Neil) of Wiggins, and Chett Harrison (Kim) of Gulfport; sister, Mavis Warden of Hobbs, NM; brother, Clyde Strickland of Heber Springs, AR; 8 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, from 12 o'clock Noon until 1:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staffs of Canon Hospice and One Magnolia Place.
