Jay Allen Shinn, 58 of Gulfport passed away on June 3, 2024 at Select Speciality surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on August 27, 1965 in Muncie, Indiana. Jay is preceded in death by his parents, Jerry & Maryanne Shinn, and Greta & Charlie Webb.
Jay was born in Muncie and graduated from Delta High School. After graduation, Jay enlisted in the United States Air Force. He proudly served for 15 years in the Air Force as a Firefighter, and was stationed for many years at various bases before retiring at Tyndall Air Force Base. Later, Jay moved with his family to the Gulf Coast. He then met Sherry in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina, and they were married in 2014. Together they have lived on the Gulf Coast.
Jay was an avid Notre Dame fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Jay was a one of a kind who could talk to anyone and always had a story to tell. His jokes and personality will live on in all of us. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jay is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Sherry Raziano; children, Jeremy Pryor, Ashley Pryor, Madelyn Raziano, and Olivia Raziano; grandchildren, Melanie and Isabela; brothers, Eric, Jason, and Chuck. Jay also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host of friends and extended family.
Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at the Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Ave, Biloxi.
