Jarvis James
Bracknell
August 4, 1972 – June 2, 2026
11190 Coleman Rd
10:00 am - 2:00 pm (Central time)
Jarvis Bracknell, a devoted family man and respected Operations Superintendent at the Diamondhead Water and Sewer District for nearly 17 years, passed away on June 2, 2026, in Metairie, Louisiana. Born on August 4, 1972, Jarvis’s life was marked by an unwavering commitment to those he loved and a selflessness that touched all who knew him.
A 1991 graduate of Harrison Central High School in Lyman, Mississippi, Jarvis carried with him the values instilled during his youth throughout his entire life. Above all else, Jarvis was the best father, husband, and Pawpaw one could ever hope for. Those who had the honor of being part of his life often spoke of his natural ability to draw people close with the way he carried himself—always kind, always caring, always putting others before himself.
Jarvis was a man of many interests—he had a passion for activities involving guns, collecting fine Bourbon, savoring cigars, and, most importantly, cherishing the time spent with his family. His heart belonged to his wife of 29 years, Jeanette Bracknell, and together they built a life filled with love and warmth. Jarvis treasured his children, Ariel Bracknell and Brayden Bracknell (Victoria), and was a proud Pawpaw to Warren Jameson, whose presence brought immeasurable joy to his life.
His family extended through his mother, Carla Younce, and stepmother, Peggy Bracknell, alongside his siblings Kirk Murphy (Georgia), Nick Bracknell, Stephanie Cameron (Shannon), Jenny Head (Jason), and Lori Ladner. Though his beloved father, Jarvis W. Bracknell, as well as his grandparents, Raymond and Ethel Marie Bracknell, Cousin Anthony Cameron, and several aunts and uncles have preceded him, their memory lives on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Jarvis’s transition leaves an undeniable void in the world—a world that has truly lost someone pure of heart. Yet, in the midst of sorrow, his family finds solace in the legacy of love and warmth he fostered, and the countless lives he enriched through his kindness and generosity. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at 11190 Coleman Road, Gulfport, Mississippi.
To those who knew him, Jarvis was absolutely the best husband, father, Pawpaw, and friend anyone could have asked for. His family remembers him not with goodbye, but with a tender "See you later." Jarvis Bracknell’s love will live forever in the hearts of Jeanette, Ariel, Brayden, Warren, and all who loved him deeply.
Daddy, this is not goodbye; it is a promise that your spirit and love continue with us always. We will love you forever.
