Janis Ree Phelps

Janis Ree Phelps, 80 of Long Beach passed away into the arms of her Heavenly Father on March 23, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on April 6, 1943 in Ellisville, Mississippi to the late James & Gwendolyn McDonald.  She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Gene McDonald.

Janis is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Terry Richard Phelps; children, Susan (Wally) Noble, Terry (Monique) Phelps Jr., and Shawn Phelps; sisters, Betty Bourque, and Carol (Rodney) Phelps.  Janis also leaves behind to cherish her memory 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

Janis was a very religious person who loved to sing, and was a member Riverside Baptist Church.   Serving her Lord was her passion and she would sing Gospel Songs everywhere she was at.  Janis was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to so many.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, Long Beach (19130 Commission Rd, Long Beach).  Her Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, Long Beach (19130 Commission Rd, Long Beach) with burial to follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
