Janice Marie Barrett Stacks, age 92 of Gulfport, went to her Heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David G. Stacks; her parents, Clifton and Beulah Barrett; her sister, Joyce Barrett; her grandson, David Britton Miller and her great-great grandson, Bentley James Craig.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Julie Stacks (Tim) Thornton; her granddaughter, Taylor (Dan) Cramer; her great granddaughter, Madison Cramer; her great grandson, Maddox Cramer; her great-great grandson, Britton Cole Craig; her niece, Amy (Keith) Shelton and her nephew, Barry Foster.

Janice was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Hansboro United Methodist Church in Gulfport. She dedicated many years to Hancock Bank, where she began her career at just 18 years old as a bank teller. Through her hard work, commitment, and attention to detail, she advanced to the role of Deposit Balancing Specialist, taking great pride in ensuring that every account balanced perfectly. She genuinely loved her work and the many friendships she made throughout her career.

Janice had a zest for life and found joy in music, dancing, traveling, camping, and trying her luck on the slot machines at Treasure Bay. Above all, she cherished her family. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with those she loved. Her warm smile, infectious laughter, and kind spirit could brighten any room, and she will be remembered for the joy she brought to everyone who knew her.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of The Blake in Biloxi Memory Care for treating Ms. Janice like family and to Gentiva Hospice for their compassion and grace during her last hours.

Graveside service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 8910 Carl Legett Road, Gulfport, led by Dr. Rev. John McKay.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to be made in Ms. Janice’s name to Hansboro United Methodist Church, 2333 Demaret Drive, Gulfport, MS 39507.
