Janet Marie Stockwell

July 9, 1941 – June 25, 2025

Janet Marie Greene Stockwell, 83, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025, in her hometown, with her longtime colleague and friend Keiko Palmero, a respected real estate broker, at her side.

Born on July 9, 1941, in Gulfport, Janet was the daughter of the late Lee and Inez Greene. She lived a life defined by independence, precision, and quiet strength. As a licensed Mississippi Real Estate Appraiser and Broker, Janet earned a lasting reputation for her professionalism, integrity, and meticulous attention to detail.

Beyond her career, Janet was deeply devoted to the timeless craft of knitting and crocheting. Her handcrafted creations were a reflection of her patience, artistry, and care—gifts she freely shared with those she loved.

She is survived by her loving brother, Al Greene (Ginger); her niece, Shelly Bennett (Chris); great-nephew, Jordan Previto (Laura); great-niece, Josie Hunt and step-nephews, Sammy Jenner (Hollie) and Michael Jenner (Jamie). She was also deeply adored by Andria and Scott Allen and family, who held a special place in her heart. Janet will be missed by her loving aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous family members and friends whose lives she touched with warmth and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Stockwell; and her stepdaughter, Cindy Alexander.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Janet’s memory to the Humane Society, a cause that meant so much to her.
