Jan W. Miller, 78, Biloxi, MS, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, at the Summertime Bay Cove Assisted Living Center, Biloxi, MS. Jan lived in Biloxi, MS, since 1974.
Jan was born on November 27, 1946, in Pierce City, MO to Wilma {Palmer) Miller and Jesse Lee Miller and attended-Carthage High School in Carthage, MO. He served in the United States Air Force beginning in 1964 and was honorably discharged in 1968.
Jan then attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL graduating with a BS degree in Business Administration. Always interested in the field of law, he then entered law school at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS to earn his Juris Doctorate in law. He served his law internship in Biloxi, MS and decided to open his law office near the Harrison County Courthouse in Biloxi. From the early 1970’s to 2017, he was an attorney-at-law at this location.
Jan was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Kenneth Miller (Jane). He is survived by his brother, Jerry Miller, Atlanta, GA, and nephew, Kent Miller (Amy), Kidder, MO, great niece, Kenna Miller and great nephew, Jacob Miller.
An avid New Orleans Saints and Boston Celtics sports fan, Jan enjoyed taking evening rides near the Gulf of America. A special thanks to Ken Russeou, retired paramedic and neighbor who provided extraordinary humanitarian support and greatly improved the quality of life in his last year.
The Riemann Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, MS is entrusted to the care and Interment will be at the Biloxi Natonal Cemetery, Biloxi, MS, a beautiful location near the Gulf of America.
