James Windham, Jr.

James Curtis Windham, Jr., 76 of Fort Payne, AL, formerly of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018 at his residence. He was born on February 17, 1942 to the late James Curtis, Sr. and Mattie Irene Williams Windham. Mr. Windham was a member of the International Longshoreman's Association and retired after 43 years of work as a longshoreman. He loved the game of golf and was at one time a scratch golfer. Among his friends, he was known as a renowned jokester. Curtis was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Fort Payne.
The funeral mass was held Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 11 a.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS. Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jan Windham; son, Matthew Curtis Windham and wife, Joanna; grandchildren, Alora and Lana and foster grandson, Sam; brothers, John Windham and wife, Sharon and Joe Windham; sister, Leora Hogue and husband, Roy; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Louis Windham and sisters, Frances Irene Bilbrey and Barbara Jane Windham.
