James David Waldrop, 76, of Saucier, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016.
Mr. Waldrop was born November 29, 1939 in Meridian, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Alton and Willielou Franklin Waldrop; and by his siblings, Mary Waldrop St. Amant, Bruce Waldrop and Eugene Waldrop.
Mr. Waldrop served in the U.S. Army as Military Police in Germany. Upon discharge, he returned to U.S.M. and graduated in 1966. He moved to the Coast and went to work for the U.S. Forestry Service until his retirement in 1995. He then worked for Capital Security Services of Jackson at the Dizzy Dean Rest Area in Wiggins for nearly 8 years.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Luanne Davis Waldrop; three children, Joseph Davis, Julie Parker (Ray) and Kathy Glenn (Jeff); ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by Jennifer Waldrop Sholar and family and Joel St. Amant (Jewdy) and family.
Mr. Waldrop loved raising exotic birds & chickens, training dogs, hunting quail and gardening. He was an active member of Saucier United Methodist Church.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 22nd, where friends may visit from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., at Saucier United Methodist Church.
