"Do not be sad", he told us, "I am going where I want to be". Our sweet Daddy, James Orval Street, left this earth on May 26, 2018, to go Home to Heaven where he is with Jesus and reunited with his beloved wife, Kay Frances Woods Street, and precious son, Marcus Christopher.
Born in rural Alabama near Millport on January 5, 1937, James Orval was a successful provider for his family and owned James Street Motors in Biloxi, Mississippi where he and Kay worked together until his retirement.
He leaves behind his cherished daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa Karon Street Fortenberry (Robert) of Gautier and Sheila Anne Street Illich (Greg) of Biloxi. His absolute pride and joy was his treasured grandson, Kyle Matthew Fortenberry (Gautier), for in his grandfatherly eyes, he supported without prejudice with a love that transcends time. He was the consummate Big Brother to Wallace Street of Abington, Virginia and Barbara Street Moore of LaPorte, Texas and dearly loved by a host of family and friends.
A simple and casual Celebration of his Life, "A Thanksgiving for Daddy", is planned for Thursday, May 31, 2018, at the church of Christ at 1116 Washington Avenue, Ocean Springs, Mississippi, 39564, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, our Daddy would want donations to the church of Christ to further God's work for Disaster Relief and the Food Pantry to help those in need.
"I am ready", he said. His mind was clear and his intent sure. Rejoice, Rejoice, for our Daddy is saved and through Blessed Assurance we will all be together again.
