James Spence, Jr.

James Leroy Spence, Jr., age 86 of Biloxi, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

Mr. Spence was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sarah Spence; his son, Henry Heckl; his brother, Butch Spence; and his sisters, Sarah, Muriel, Jeanie.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Linda Spence; his son, Joe Spence; his granddaughters, Ariel Spence and Bianca Carson; great granddaughters, Celine Carson, Amelia Carson, and Olivia Carson; and daughter in heart, Becky Sutcliffe.

James had a long, adventurous career in the United States Army where he served over 20 years. He was a master logistician in the Army. James was a true family man, enjoying the time he spent with his family. He was a fierce protector of his family. He was handy around the house and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He often bragged on his children and grandchildren for their accomplishments. He enjoyed cooking, having debates with family over coffee, attending family reunions, was a skilled carpenter and loved going to Disney World.
