James Shippee

d. October 7, 2018

James Kent "Jim" Shippee, age 61, of D'Iberville, lost his battle with cancer on October 7, 2018.
He was born in San Diego, CA and he attended D'Iberville High School and he remained a resident of D'Iberville most of his life.  He was a Christian and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Kenneth Shippee and his step-father, Oscar Adair Beasley.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Phyllis Ebberman Shippee; a daughter, Felicia Lynd (Loren Young); 2 sons, Kenneth Shippee and Phillip Shippee; his grandchildren, Alexa Nicole Shippee, Logan Gray Young, and Lane Emile Young; his mother, Anna Mae Beasley; his step-mother, Naomi Shippee; his sisters, Victoria Byerly, and Margaret Shippee (Roy Mattina); a brother, Raymond Beasley (Marcy); a sister-in-law, Leslie McGrew; brother-in-law, Mack Branning; and many nieces and nephews.
Growing up with braces on both legs didn't stop Jim from being all boy!  Even though he couldn't play sports or join the service, he climbed trees, rode horses, motorcycles, and became a pipefitter by trade.  He was a friend to many and a stranger to no one.
The family would like to thank Dr. Pam Tuli and her staff, Cedar Lake Oncology and St. Joseph Hospice for their care and guidance during this difficult time.  Jim's wishes were to not have a service upon his homecoming but preferred everyone to cherish the memories they made together.
The RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd, West Jackson County, is serving the family and an online guestbook may be signed and condolences offered at www.riemannfamily.com
