James David Salters

James ""Jim"" David Salter, Jr., age 75 and a resident of Gulfport, died on Monday, September 23, 2013.
Mr. Salter was of Methodist faith. After graduation from high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force the very next day and served for 8 1/2 years. He was stationed in Japan while serving in the Air Force. He was a Dental Lab Technician at the Biloxi VA from 1973-1997, and then he had a dental lab in his home until his retirement in 2005. Work was his hobby, and he was a very devoted family man.
Mr. Salter was preceded by his parents James David Salter, Sr. and Beatrice Salter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48, years Ann Salter of Gulfport; 2 sons, Douglas Salter and Derek Salter (Sandie); and three grandchildren Ayla Salter, Drake Salter and Violet Salter.
The funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport with a visitation for family and friends from 10:30 A.M. until the service. Burial with military honors will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 196 Charmant Drive Suite 4, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
