James Moniot

James Michael Moniot, age 58, and a resident of Gulfport, passed away on November 22, 2017 in Gulfport, MS.
James was a native of Biloxi MS. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications from University of Southern Mississippi and was awarded "Outstanding Senior in Radio-TV Production". He also served in the US Coast Guard as Subsistence Specialist Third Class. During that time he served aboard C.G.C. Salvia and C.G.C. Red Beech. Later on, he was honorably discharged.
His hobbies included music, guitar, cooking, and gardening. He loved the outdoors, nature, and science fiction.
He is preceded in death by his father, Rene Joseph Moniot, Jr.
He leaves behind one daughter, Leslie Moniot; mother, Julia Isabelle Starks McCann; one sister, Margaret Moniot; two brothers, Stephen Moniot and Edwin Stackhouse; and one grandchild, Elsie Jane Lalas.
