James “Mark” Brown, 58, of Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away on April 16, 2026
Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Jamie Arnold Buckley; his father, Dr. Richard Edward Buckley; his sister, Lisa Rae Brown; his brother, Ryan “Eric” Buckley; and his grandmother, Mary Arnold.
He is survived by his sisters, Rachel Buckley and Robert Smith of D’Iberville, Mississippi, and Rebekah Buckley of Slidell, Louisiana. His beloved nieces and nephews also survive him: Jaice and Giana Smith of D’Iberville, Mississippi; Mia and Sunny Howard of Lafayette, Louisiana; and Peighton, Ryan, and Everleigh Buckley of Long Beach, Mississippi. Mark is also survived by his partner in life, Melinda Reigns, who shared a deep and meaningful bond with him.
Mark was a talented musician and artist who found his passion playing in heavy metal bands. He had a deep love for music and an even deeper love for the people in his life. His friends were more like family, and he shared countless memories, laughter, and loyalty with those closest to him. Mark was also a proud member of the 501st Legion, the world’s largest Star Wars costuming organization known for its charitable work. He was part of the Rancor Raiders and the Bast Alpha Garrison, where he combined his love for creativity, community, and giving back. In loving memory, his partner Melinda Reigns shares: “Mark was larger than life and more than a library of words could encompass.” In true Mark fashion, his memory lives on through the music he loved and the community he built. As Ozzy sang, “Mama, I’m coming home,” and somewhere among the stars, may the Force be with him—always.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, West Jackson County, is honored to serve the family during this difficult time.
